 Inpatient Unit  The Inpatient Unit at the Mayo hospital has nine beds dedicated to the needs of those people experiencing mental health problems. People are admitted on a voluntary basis and are provided with individual air conditioned ensuite rooms and 24 hour nursing care. Specifically, the unit has a range of programs that caters for problems such as post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar disorder, alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation, and psychotic disorders including schizophrenia. There are daily skills based therapy groups and recreational activities, as well as individual therapy to treat the identified disorders and promote successful recovery. Specialist Consulting Rooms Mayo mental Services comprise of a specialist consulting rooms offering individual outpatient consultations with the psychiatrist and psychology services. The Consulting rooms are located on the Mayo campus site. The rooms offer privacy in a comfortable and modern facility. Many of our specialised staff consult from numerous areas in the Manning Valley. This includes Forster/Tuncurry and General Practice centers throughout the area. Specilised staff can refer clients to other outpatient services that the Mayo offer. This includes:  Community Outreach Service (Private)
